Course summary

The Graduate Diploma in Business Administration is designed as a pathway into the Master of Business Administration or a standalone qualification for experienced professionals with ambition and drive who wish to develop their responsible and sustainable leadership skills. You will gain a holistic strategic business point-of-view required to operate effectively in an increasingly competitive and changing global business world.

In addition to the first phase of the MBA structure where you will learn to diagnose issues in real organisations, you will also start to explore the latest thinking and practices from leading organisations and research worldwide, and evaluate emerging options in today’s business environment. You will also get the chance to fine-tune your skills in research, creative thinking and problem solving, ethical decision-making, communication and teamwork.

Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration provides a pathway to the Master of Business Administration (MBA), with credit for all 8 subjects completed during the Graduate Diploma.

A range of admission options are available for students of all ages and academic backgrounds.

 

A recognised Bachelor degree or a tertiary academic qualification with duration of at least three years’ full-time equivalent, plus a minimum of three years’ relevant full-time professional or managerial experience and a one-page Statement of Motivation. Other tertiary qualifications combined with extensive professional work experience will be considered.

The MBA video provides an overview of the new MBA program, detailing the course structure and how the course-level learning outcomes are progressively developed throughout the degree.

Course Structure 

To qualify for the award of the degree, the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, a candidate is required to complete 48 credit points, comprised of:

  1. six (6) compulsory subjects (36 credit points) and
  2. two (2) elective subjects (12 credit points) chosen from 900 level subjects offered by the Faculty of Business.

International students can take the elective subject, Global Workplace Practice, which includes practical job seeking activities and access to the American workforce either through an internship, industry-based project or part-time employment.
