Course summary
The Master of Marketing involves an exploration of the motives of consumers during the purchase of products and services. You will learn how to use this market research to make more effective marketing decisions.
Leading Marketing academics will teach you to examine who the customer is to develop a competitive advantage by effectively positioning products/services in the market. You will study how to utilise promotional tools an organisation may use to create this competitive advantage and enhance a brand’s equity, whether the organisation is a commercial, non-profit, or social entity.
This master’s degree will ultimately enable you to develop and demonstrate technical knowledge and skills in marketing, a field increasingly important for all types of organisations that need to deliver value through the products and services they create. You will have the opportunity to study a wide range of advanced topics in marketing and gain professionally oriented generalist and specialist marketing skills.
For a 2 year program, this degree can be combined with a second master’s degree from Business School.

- If you hold a bachelor degree in a Business or Commerce related area you may be granted credit for up to 24 cp (4 core subjects).
- Graduates of the Master of Marketing can progress to another select master’s program and receive up to 36 credit points credit into their new master’s degree - so you can complete 2 master’s programs in 2 years.
- Graduates looking to progress to the Master of Business Administration will receive up to 18 credit points credit into the MBA program, if they meet the appropriate work experience entry requirements.

Course Structure
Students must complete a total of 12 subjects, 72 credit points comprising 10 specified subjects as listed in the program structure along with 2 X 900 level elective subjects (12 cps). The foundation subjects should be completed within the first two sessions of study and the capstone subject, MARK944 Marketing Research Capstone should be completed within the final session of study. Students select two 900 level elective subjects (totalling 12 cps) from a range of subjects offered by the Faculty of Business (excludes MBA, EMBA and some specialised 900 level subjects). Students are highly recommended to complete Marketing subjects (MARK codes) as electives.
