Why study Creative Arts
- The Bachelor of Creative Arts will give you the right balance of doing and thinking. We give you plenty of time in the studio to create and refine your technique, while exploring the theory, history and meaning of your chosen discipline in the classroom.
- You will learn from professional artists, published authors, respected playwrights, performers, actors, musicians and designers: people who are successful creatives in their own right. They will mentor you as you push yourself creatively, help you develop your craft and open doors for your career.
- You will be exposed to a variety of areas within Creative Arts and be equipped with essential skills such as graphic design, audio production, stagecraft, visual arts, acting, voice, singing, movement, writing and visual arts.
- Our technical facilities and studio-based practice will encourage you to carve out your own creative niche. You will work alongside exceptional artists, exploring new genres and forms in the creative industries and the impact these have on our cultural landscape. You will join a collaborative community of like-minded students and staff who are passionate about the Arts, building the foundations for strong future connections across a wide variety of disciplines.
- Showcase your work at end of year Graduate Exhibitions and Performances. This is an opportunity for students to collaborate with peers, artists and academics to produce a unique piece of work to add to their professional portfolio.
- You can take part in an international exchange program or internship program through our global network of over 140 partner universities and organisations.
Why study Performance & Theatre
- The Bachelor of Performance & Theatre is a specialist course that will develop you as a self-reliant, highly skilled performing artist or theatre professional through a practice-based program.
- You will learn to apply practical skills and theoretical knowledge to contemporary performance and theatre, as well as learn the techniques, strategies and processes of modern theatre-making in a range of contexts, whether in regional or metropolitan settings, or for children, young people and adults.
- You will cover traditional interpretive actor training, develop your skills in acting, voice, singing and movement. You will also study theatre-making with an emphasis on collaboration and ensemble practice. Subjects also cover the history and theory of theatre and professional practice.
- You will participate in productions each semester of your degree equipping you with the skills to break into the performing arts industry.
