The Federal and State Governments offer several funding programs to support collaborative research between the University and industry. RSU has a proven track record of efficiently securing government grants with industry partners. The Innovation and Commercial Research Unit can provide expert advice on funding options, applications processes and expected timelines. The table below outlines some of the funding sources that we have found to be most effective for collaborative research.

Company requirements

Small or Medium Enterprise (SME), NSW Based,  Operating> 2 years

Min two companies collaborating together at least one NSW based SME American Based operating> 3 years, turn over $1.5 million and $100 million, growth sectors only Na Na Na Varies for each CRC

*Government programs change name and requirements from time to time. Please refer to linked sites for current program details. Summary details in the table were checked for accuracy in January 2020. 

^ The amount in the table is the matched amount. For example for Tech Vouchers, NSW Treasury with provide up to $15,000 for eligible projects. This means that if the project value is $30,000, NSW Treasury will contribute $15,000 of the project cost and the industry partner will also contribute $15,000 for their project (plus GST). Industry partners are generally invoiced 50% upfront and 50% on final completion.
