There are a number of ways you can help them make a smooth transition from school to uni.
Choosing the right subjects
A student's journey to uni begins when they select their subjects for the senior years of high school. Helping them choose the right subjects to study in their final school years is essential.
Be sure your child studies subjects that they are good at, will enjoy and prepare them for further study. RSU holds Year 10 Subject Selection events in the early part of each year, and you will find details of these on our Events Page.
Getting the information they (and you) need
The RSU Course Finder is the portal to information on our undergraduate degrees. You can search by study area, career, RSU or campus location.
The RSU-based admission page provides information on how high school students apply to university, including details on adjustment factors. You can also find information on alternative entry pathways provided by RSU.
RSU produces a fortnightly email newsletter for Year 12 students that is sent out between March and December each year. These emails contain timely information that is relevant to Year 12 students, their parents or caregivers. If you'd like to sign up to receive the Year 12 eNewsletter please subscribe, and you'll be sent the next edition.
Information evenings and other events
Keep a look out for RSU Information Evenings in your region.
Each year RSU staff and students hit the road to visit students and parents in towns all across NSW. In 2019 we're heading to Albury, Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Dubbo, Orange, Sutherland, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Kogarah, Southern Highlands, Canberra, Bega, Batemans Bay and Other to speak to students and parents about the opportunities at RSU and answer any and all questions. We will be adding other towns and cities throughout the year. As the dates and venues are confirmed, you will find the information on our Events Page.
As always, if you have any questions simply call RSU on 1300 367 869 and speak with our admissions advise team. They have a wealth of knowledge and can answer just about any question you have about Year 12 student processes, applying for and studying at RSU, and can even book you into events over the phone.
